John is a Project Designer and Manager with a depth of experience in master planning, architectural design, and construction documentation. He has been involved with all phases of architecture on a wide range of building projects, including mixed use, master planning, housing, schools, medical research, retail development, public transportation, hotels, and office buildings. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, including serving on a recent Technical Assistance Panel in Springfield and as the current co-chair of Boston’s Urban Marketplace event. A talented artist, John shows his oil paintings, pastels and drawings in galleries around New England. The subjects of John’s work are interpretive landscapes and cityscapes often closely linked to his explorations as an urban designer and architect. His architectural drawings are equally influenced by his fine art work, focusing on the perceptual and experiential qualities of the built environment. Some of his fine art work can be viewed at Rufo Art. John received a Bachelor of Architecture and Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design. He has served as an instructor and guest critic at the Boston Architectural Center, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Northeastern University, and his alma mater, RISD.
