Sean’s portfolio of work doesn’t fit into a single, tidy category: he has designed retail malls, multi-family housing, college dorms, toy stores, movie theaters, clothing stores, and even taxidermy displays. In Freeport, Maine, he designed the LL Bean Hunting & Fishing Store which became the first LEED certified retail building in the state. Sean is the architect of six (and counting) LEED certified projects. At Brooklyn Boulders Somerville, outside Boston, Massachusetts, he designed the largest rock-climbing gym in the Northeast, and since its opening has developed an addiction to the grueling sport. His work has been published in the New York Times, Urban Land magazine, and Shopping Centers Today. He is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and is currently chairing the programming committee for the annual ICSC “RetailGreen Conference,” where he is also a regular speaker and moderator. Sean is a member of the Board of Directors for the Somerville, Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce. When he has spare time, he loves to travel with his family. One trip included a cross-country drive to search for western ghost towns and 1970's Earth Art in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah. He brought back pictures of decaying stone walls and tarantulas, a worn-out car, and a love of the wide-open vistas in the western states.
